The Problem

Picture
The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
Proverbs 22:7

Credit cards have become one of the most widely acquired tools used today to manage our finances and one of the most prevalent ways for people to get into the worst kind of debt: consumer debt. Credit cards have all the opportunities of a great tool: easy to acquire, easy to use. If used inappropriately, over time, we start to see and feel the consequences of using consumer debt in our financial affairs unwisely. For many of us, this awakening produces fear, panic, and despair. God wants something different for you and we’re here to help.

Like you, all of us who work at Debt Free Christian have been in the same place you are right now. By God's grace, we have begun the process of going in a better direction; one that leads us away from the bondage of debt. We know how to get you on your road to financial freedom from credit card debt.

In the past, we have thought we could work our way out of this problem by just getting better at playing the game. It is a common theme we often hear at Debt Free Christian. You may recognize one or more of the approaches we have taken to "win the credit card game.” They go something like this:

  • Get credit cards and use them, focusing on the interest rate and limit on the cards.
  • Run up the cards higher than we thought; start to feel payment and interest pressure.
  • The interest rate goes up for whatever reason.
  • The offers for lower interest rate cards come in, and we do balance transfers.
  • Time expires on the lower rates, or they go up.
  • Credit card companies stop sending us the low-interest or no-interest rate offers.
  • Credit card balances, interest rates, and payments are no lower than they were before.
  • We are no further ahead than when we started, and have run out of options.
  • If you can relate to one or more of the above approaches, welcome to the club!

At Debt Free Christian, we not only want you out of debt, we will help you get out and stay out. Along the way, you will gain wisdom and insight to avoid falling into the pitfall of consumer debt.

We are admonished by scripture to Owe no man anything, but to love one another -
